There is a theater scene outside Broadway. There are performers out there unaffiliated with Broadway and yet can give a performance rivaling those who are affiliated. This theater scene is called the independent theater.
To further raise the profile of New York's independent theater and to act collectively on some issues hounding the independent theater, a group of New York independent artists announced the creation of The League of Independent Theater, Inc.
