Special Theaters for Handicapped Children

Tasks such as getting a glass of water and crossing the street can be painfully difficult for people who are handicapped. So how can you expect them to participate in a theatrical production?

Apparently, they can, if they will be only given special care and attention. In Ukraine, this is exactly what is done. Around 80 special theaters are already around and a few more will be established over the years.

Theater Hearing Proposal.

Valley residents of Roanoke Rapids were given two public hearings held by the city council to review the proposal by Lafayette Gatling to purchase the said property, and give the public a chance to voice out their thoughts and concerns about the future of Roanoke Rapids Theatre

Lafayette Gatling, Northampton County native and Chicago businessman, proposed a lease purchase agreement which will set the price of the theater at $12.5 million with a $1 million discount if he could make all payments in time under the proposed agreement. More details on the link below.

Actors Gone Wild for a Cause

Theater student from Paul Blazer, once again made the Millennium Center alive last Friday with their "Actors Gone Wild", an annual fund raising activity. Every student in Blazer is invited for the whole day activity which is packed and cost a dollar every period.

The event raised up to $650 dollars and later will be donated to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Ike relief.

The Possible Dream: Passion for the Theatre and Performing Arts

Art is the evidence of man's infinite creativity and passion. Paintings, sculptures, music, and acting are the art man had and willing to master. The theater and the performing art is not an easy endeavor. Besides acting, managing a theater group is a whole different story, but for an eighteen year old Clemente putting the name of his fellow actors and theater company on the map is not an impossible dream.
